Bright, Cheery & Fun with Sophia Workshop on the Go!

Close to My Heart continues to amaze me with the beautiful patterns and paper collections and stamps we have to work with! So much fun! Above is the first two page layout for the Sophia Workshop on the Go that I will be teaching in May.  Really fun combination of colors.

Loving the new scallop punch!  Can you tell I can't skip using it on anything? This layout features stitching, using corner rounder, making the beautiful flowers, layered stamping, and much more!  Stamps used are Friendship Alphabet Large, Dreams Come True, our new Polka Dot Alphabet and of course the beautiful stamp set that comes included in the kit!

Mayberry = FUN!!

As a mom of two boys you are faced with the challenge of how to use all that pretty pink paper, flowers, glitter and fun accessories that do not scream masculine.  But you know?  Boys deserve to have a little fun too! And when treated correctly, you CAN use flowers, pinks and more "cheery stuff" and still have a great layout with the boys in your life!

This layout above is my version of the Mayberry Workshop on the Go that I will be teaching in April. Prepare to work!  There are lots of details and techniques here: we will use our new Kraft paper, our new scallop punch, making fan fold flowers, using our new Designer buttons in the green assortment (WHICH ROCK!!!).

See that alphabet?  That is Close to My Heart's new Token Alphabet!!! AND, you can punch it out perfectly with our 1 1/4" inch punch!! Woo hoo! No cutting perfection :)

So do you love it?

There is more!!!

Here is the second page!  You see the scallops treated differently, now accented with large brads and buttons.  Another flower type & dry embossing accents our backround paper and mats!

Yes! Used a lot of fun stamps here besides the one that come with the Mayberry Workshop on the Go kit: Circle Around for stitched look, and Summer Days is sprinkled all over these two layouts and here again detail of the Token alphabet!

And you know what!  I still had leftover paper that got me in the creative mood to design a MINI BOOK!!! So, attendees for my workshops, you will the fun option of creating a Mini Book with your leftover paper and a few extras for just $18, on a special MINI BOOK night! SAVE THE DATE: APRIL 26!!!!!  Pictures coming on Monday....

Have a great weekend everyone - Please post a comment and let me know what you think!!

Time to Welcome Spring with Card Class and Another Recipe!

Time for Spring cleaning, spring colors & fun outdoor time!  I have some super fun workshops coming that will get you inspired to do just that! Here is the very popular Easter/Spring Card Workshop that I will be teaching on March 29:

I particularly love this set because each card is so different: one is acrylic, one we work with background stamping, creating flowers from our new scallop punch, beautiful button work, using kraft paper, and the awesome stamp sets Springtime and Sensational Season!  If you are interested in signing up for the class or finding out the packages I have available, or would like a kit with instructions shipped to you, EMAIL ME!

I also needed to share a much requested recipe that I have from Pampered Chef that is pretty easy and pretty terrific!  So try it out sometime:

Chicken & Broccoli Ring
2 cups chopped cooked chicken
1 1/2 cups chopped broccoli
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
1/3 cup light mayo
1 tsp dried dill
1/4 tsp salt
1 pressed garlic clove
1 egg white lightly beaten
2 (8oz) packages refrigerated cresecent rolls.

Preheat oven to 375.  Unroll the crescent rolls and divide into 16 triangles.  Arrange the triangles in a circle on a pizza stone, overlapping them on the wide side and the points should be off of the stone facing out.  There should be about a 5 inch opening on the middle of the stone.

Combine all other ingredients except egg ina bowl and mix well.  Scoop this filling on the wide end of the ring in a circle, distributing it evenly.  Now take the points of each triangle and bring them up over the filling and tuck them under the dough in the center forming a ring.

Brush the ring with egg white and bake for about 30 minutes or untill golden brown.  Enjoy!
