As always, I love teaching my workshops and enjoying the company of so many nice people. Here are some of you at my Canyon Springs workshop on Wednesday! Thanks for coming and allowing me to do what I love!
Last night we had our monthly team meeting and it is such a pleasure to work with such a nice, talented and fun group. You know what I have discovered? That scrappers are really awesome people. It is amazing how you can sit with a perfect stranger for hours at a crop table and have that nice comfort feeling and knowing that they enjoy the smell of paper, ink, adhesive and getting their fingers dirty as much as you do. I am truly blessed to have found one my greatest passions and to be able to share it with others and my wonderful team.
Here was my group last night creating our Card Box - which I will be teaching at Creative Club next month (see below). We did miss some valuable team members last night : Ali Stone, Jodie Coffman, Daniella Gomez, Rachel Sherman, Amanda Hyns & Aixa Rumbaut...we sure hope they would have been there!
From Left to Right pictured are: Nikki Velasco, Mary-Randolph Scott, Pamela Turner, Carla Landron, Norma Gonzalez, Vicki Enyart & Joleen Taylor.

I am so in love with all the new paper lines this season from Close to My Heart beacuse thay are all so different but so right on with the colors and patterns...The You Rock paper collection features fun, vibrant hues like Outdoor Denim, Goldrush & Sunflower and reverses to shades of purple as well! Here is the YOU ROCK Workshop on the Go that I will be teaching mostly in March.
It is really fun and very easy to adapt to your photos...think pet pages, kids, yourselves. The title "BE YOU" has been stamped in Golrush & Sunflower inks using a rolling technique and the Rustic Alphabet stamp set. They have been finished in Liquid Glass to get the high sheen look. The picture above shows the pages that will be taught at the workshop or you can make the cards.
Here is a better look at the cards. The layout and the cards feature or Top Coats - Rockin' - these very cool and glossy pieces that have the coordinating design on them. Both the cards and layout are swarmed with Bitty Sparkles that are oh co cute! I do reccommend using the tweezers to get these on the page! We do a lot of distressing with our edge distresser and inks. Ink Colors used are Outdoor Denim, Goldrush and Sunflower.
The Basic Workshop Kit brings the Level 2 paper Pack, the exclusive stamp set, the Outdoor Denim Embellishment Collection (ribbon, brads, frames & buttons) and the full-color brochure for just $29.95!
You may upgrade your pack by adding the Bitty Sparkles, the Top Coats- Rockin, some White Hemp, the coordinating Inks and necessary tools. Those purchases are a la carte.
Here is the second layout you can choose to make with this kit:
I feature my son Marc during at his chrous peresentations this year at school but you can customize your layout to whatever you would like! I currently am schedule to teach this workshop on the following dates:
Since I have been so active in Scrapbooking, I have stayed pretty up to date with my younger son Nathan's pictures. I have recently started to complete pages for my sweet Marc who is now nine. Here is a page I recently complted at Leadership using Twitterpated paper and Stickease for some old pictures of Marc when he was two years old. He was so excited to see me scrapping his "baby'' pictures too!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Valentine's weekend! We had a nice one - pretty low key but we did have a nice Valentine breakfast on Sunday morning at home. Just to share, this is the card I gave to dear hubby Steve for Valentines - the cover was inspired by a consultant on the boards and I tweaked the design and created an inside pocket for some "love tags". Here is the card before I personalized it for Steve:
Our hearts go out to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, and like so many of you, we’re eager to help. We’re excited to announce Close To My Heart’s February Constant Campaign, Hearts for Haiti—where customers can get a great deal while doing great good for those affected by the devastation in Haiti.
From February 1-28, 2010, our 12” x 12” textured cardstock combo packs are buy one, get one FREE—and with every offer purchased, Close To My Heart will donate $2 US to Operation Smile’s Haiti relief efforts.
Operation Smile is always a fantastic charitable partner—offering free facial reconstruction surgeries to needy children throughout the world. They’ve currently marshaled their medical teams and resources to provide emergency relief in Haiti, and the donations given as part of Hearts for Haiti will be used exclusively for Operation Smile’s efforts in Haiti. For more information on their on-the-ground response, you can visit www.operationsmile.org/haiti.
So I went shopping with my 9 year old boy Marc for someValentine treats and his main objection was that they were either all too girly, too "kiddish" or too boring. So he asked me to make him something, which of course, warmed my heart! So I made this really simple Valentine - knowing that most kids will just rip it up and go for the candy! It uses Tulip, Black and White Daisy cardstocks color and You Rock stamp set. On the back, I glued a piece of chocolate and it has a to/from label. Marc loved it and it was easy to make!
I had a great time playing with CTMH's Topstitch Level 1 Kit and Stickease. It was so easy to create this beautiful layout without any cutting!!! all I did was added some pop dots to the stickease, matted my pictures using the cardstock in the kit and added some Twinkle Brads for sparkle and voila! I think I may need to work on some Level 1 kits more often. A great way to get the layout done in a snap. The only stamping here is under the title for the location using the Hodge Podge Alphabet set.
I have decided to start a new monthly creative club in addition to our regular scrapbooking and card workshops that will be taking place at my house... Every month we will work on a new project or altered item. Every attendee will receive a Club Card from me. Every class you attend your card will get punched (stamped, of course!) and you will be able to redeem your card for some goodies!
Our first class will take place on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. We will be altering a My Acrylix organizer into a Card Organizer! It has monthly dividers and will include a yearly perpetual log so you can "tab" your cards according to events and never forget those special people in your life!! You can pick your own paper packet so they colors will match your decor and taste.
The paper I used for my sample is Emporium. All items are Close to My Heart, of course. The class fee will be $35 and will include the box, 1/2 paper pack of your choice and all embellies, dimensional letters & ribbon.
Sign up by March 1st to be able to participate!! Email me or call me at (561) 716-2166.
Here is another layout from the Close to My Heart's Topstitch Workshop on the Go! It is the second layout in the kit. I changed it up a bit and added the Soft Suede Pinwheels in white (love these!!!) they look like they are hand stitched and you do not have to do a thing! The layout features stitching using embroidery floss and dimensional hearts. Colors are Colonial White, Heavenly Blue and Chocolate.
Check out the mini book I added to the layout! It is held on by a metal tag on the top!
We were celebrating our son Nathan's 2nd Birthday! I can't believe that he is no longer a "baby". The stamping is done with Workshop stamp set that is included in the kit and with our new Cocktail Alphabet which I am totally into!
